                                                                                  sometimes it is closer to painting where neither phrases,
                                                                                  words nor letters can be deciphered and simply create
                                                                                  an abstract pattern (Franz Mon, Ferdinand Kriwet, John
                                                                                  Furnival). When the poem is purely phonetic it comes
                                                                                  closest to music (Bernard Heidsieck, Henri Chopin).
                                                                                  Occasionally concrete poetry relates almost equally to
                                                                                  the visual, semantic and phonetic possibilities (Ernst
                                                                                  Jandl, Hansjörg Mayer, Max Bense). It would be
                                                                                  difficult, however, to plot an exact graph and decide
                                                                                  precisely where each concrete poem belongs in
                                                                                  relation to art, literature, and music; and as for the
                                                                                  concrete poets themselves, it is almost impossible to
                                                                                  group them with any degree of accuracy since their
                                                                                  work has considerable variety.
                                                                                    One can consider concrete poetry from yet another
                                                                                  angle. In his book  Physics and Philosophy,  Werner
                                                                                   Heisenberg wrote: 'Equality and inequality, repetition
                                                                                  and symmetry, certain group structures, play the funda-
                                                                                  mental role both in art and in mathematics'. This applies
