Edward Krazinski was born in Luc in 1925 and now lives and works in
Cracow. His sculptures exhibit a type of surrealist imagination which can
be found in the work of many contemporary Polish artists and which,
although related to certain types of surrealism elsewhere, is nevertheless
entirely Polish.
Jan Lebenstein was born in 1930 in Brest-Litovsk and lives partly in
Warsaw, partly in Paris. Probably the best known Polish artist abroad,
Lebenstein is represented in the permanent collections of most of
the important foreign museums. His work, very close in style to some
post-war School of Paris painting, relies heavily on texture, paint
quality and impasto for its effects. He also introduces elements of
chance and the results of an improvisatory working method into his
painting.
Urbanowicz Danuta, who is in his middle twenties, is one of the more
important members of the avant-garde in Cracow. He studied at the
Cracow Art Academy under Jonasz Stern.
