The works illustrated here are from the Canada 101
exhibition which opened at Edinburgh College of
Art on August 18. The exhibition, the first large
showing of Canadian art to be seen in the U.K.
for many years, closes on September 7.
A total of seventy-six works by twenty-two artists
are included in the exhibition; among the exhibi-
tors are Guido Molinari, Michael Snow, Greg
Curnoe, Joyce Wieland and lain Baxter.
The artists were selected by Richard Demarco of
the DEMARCO GALLERY, Edinburgh, who recently
visited Canada, and the actual works were selected
by a Canadian committee acting on behalf of the
Canada Council. Members of the committee were
Gilles Henault, director of Montreal's Musée d'Art
Contemporain, Doris Shadbolt, curator of VAN-
COUVER ART GALLERY, and William Withrow,
director of the ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO.
