The Institute of Contemporary Arts shows works by show-October 11 to
Alexander Calder to October 29. A Calder November 4-of works by
retrospective was held at the Tate in 1962. Right, Alviani, Scheggi and
Starfish, 1961, gouache, 14 3/4 x 21 3/4 in. (Price range De Rosny. (Price range

Below Loving birds, plaster, 1927, by Max Ernst, in Left Yellow valley, 1966, oil on canvas, 23 3/4 x 19 3/4 in.,
a Surrealist Masters show at the Obelisk Gallery, in a Lefevre Gallery exhibition of paintings by
October 3 to November 17. Included are works by Raymond Martinez-October 5 to October 29.
Bellmer, Brauner, Ozenfant, Man Ray, and Ehrlich. Martinez, who is of Spanish and Welsh parentage,
had his first one-man show in 1964 at the Lefevre.
Opposite left Insect, 1954, oil on canvas, in the
Don Quixote Gallery exhibition, to October 23, of
work by Ivan Mosca (born in Parma in 1915 and
since 1936 living and working in Rome), whose
previous London one-man show was in 1960. Among
collections possessing works by Mosca are the
Museum of Modern Art, N.Y.; Cleveland; Fogg;
Cincinnati; and Santa Barbara. (Price range approx.
£35-£750.)
Opposite centre A sculpture of 1965, Carrara
marble, 24 in. high, by Guitou Knoop, (b. Moscow,
1909), whose sculptures are at the Redfern Gallery
from October 4 to October 29. Of Dutch origin,
Guitou Knoop became a French citizen in 1933. She
was a close friend of Jean Arp, and her work has
been influenced by Brancusi and Laurens.
