A. Paper, pencil and eraser rest on the shelf. The drawing illustrates this group and is erased.
B. The mirror is clipped into the clipboard. Nothing further can be done.
C. The drawing is made on the paper with the paint and brush. The paint cannot be erased.
D. The pencil tries to 'paint out' the surface of the paper. This wears down the lead, and the pencil becomes unusable before the sheet is covered. The
eraser does not remove the graphite from the paper. It quickly blackens and becomes ineffectual.
E. The drawing of the set is made and remains. It cannot be scraped off the paper.
F. The clipboard holds the mirror, the paint and brush hang where the pencil would be, the scraper hangs where the eraser would be. The surface of the
mirror is painted and scraped.
G. The paper goes on the shelf and is painted. The paint cannot be scraped off.
H. The pencil rests on the shelf with the mirror and scraper. Nothing further can be done.
I. The drawing of the set is made on the surface of the mirror with the paint and brush. This is scraped off.
J. The surface of the mirror is painted, but the paint cannot be removed with the eraser.
