Solace I, 1967, painted plywood, 27 x 27 x 9 in. by
Philip Nielson in a joint show with Anne Norwich
and Philip Thompson at the A.I.A. Gallery, 15 Lisle
Street, W.C.2, from November 10-30. Philip Nielson,
born on a bushfarm in New Zealand in 1925, had
his first one-man show in 1962 at the Ikon Gallery in
Birmingham. He has relief panels and prints in
many public and private collections in Australia.

A hawking party in an extensive river landscape,
29½ x 44½ in. by Philips Wouverman in the Autumn
exhibition of Flemish, Dutch and Italian Old Masters
at Leonard Koetser, 13 Duke Street, S.W.1, until
December 15. Wouverman (1614-68) is represented
in collections in Paris, Amsterdam and England.

Print (edition of 50) silk-screen by Brian Rice in
a one-man show at London Graphic Art Associates,
84 Grosvenor Street, W.1, from November 13 to
December 3. Brian Rice was born in Somerset in
1936 and studied at Yeovil and Goldsmiths Colleges
of Art. In 1961 he won the Arnolfini competition
and had his first one-man show, since when he has
had several exhibitions in London and has taken
part in group shows in America and Europe. In
October he took part in a show of Contemporary
British Art at the Dunkelman Gallery, Toronto.

canvas, 24 x 28* in. by Pissarro in an exhibition of
19th and 20th century French paintings at Lefevre,
30 Bruton Street, W.1, from November 16 to
December 22. The exhibition also contains paintings
by Cezanne, Monet, Modigliani, Bonnard and
Gauguin.

Brindisi-olive tree, 1960, black ink and bamboo pen
on grey paper, by Katerina Wilczynski in a one-man
show called Rocks, olives and calques at William
Ware, 160 Fulham Road, S.W.10, from November
1-8. The exhibition is mainly of Greek scenes.

Millington 2, 1965, aluminium and resin, 54 x 54 in.
by Christopher Sanderson at Axiom, 79 Duke Street,
W.1, from November 7 to December 2. Sanderson
was born in 1939 in Jerusalem and studied at Leeds
College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art.

La vision for The Maid of Orleans, a watercolour
drawing, 14 x 9 in. by Kay Nielsen (1886-1957) in
British illustrators from 1840 at the Fine Art Society
from November 13 to December 1. The show, the
second of its kind held at this gallery, covers the
whole field from Arthur Rackhan and George
Cruikshank to Osbert Lancaster and Ronald Searle.
Also included are works by Caldecott, Phiz, Leech,
Keene, Thomson, Du Maurier, May, Greenaway,
Doyle, King, Wain, Dulac, Tenniel and Flint.
