      Composition, 1967, oil on canvas, 47 x 40 in. by
      Alantar at the Galerie Suzanne de Coninck, 20 rue
      de Verneuil until November 24. Alantar was born in
      Istanbul in 1932 and studied fresco painting in
      Florence. He first exhibited at the Venice Biennale
      in 1958 and has since held shows of graphics,
      prints and paintings throughout Europe.

      Manege aux chandelles, wrought iron by Louis
      Chavignier (from Montboudif, Cantal) in an exhibi-
      tion L'Objet 2 at the Galerie Lacloche, 24 rue de
      GréneIle, from the middle of November. The gallery
      is presenting objects and pieces of furniture, a
      repeat of the show held last year at Studio Meuble,
      Place Vendome. The works were designed by
      modern artists such as Arman, Berrocal, César,
      Jacobsen and Matta. The objects are a contribution
      to the movement to encourage functional art while
      introducing aesthetics into interior and furniture
      design. The pieces are now being shown at more
      reasonable prices.

      Stockholm

      Etude pour /'equation des bleus mouvants, 1929,
      gouache 12 x 11 in. by František Kupka at the
      Galerie Aronowitsch, Karlavagen 69 until November
      15. Kupka was born in Czechoslovakia in 1871 and
      died in Paris in 1957. One of the pioneers of
      non-figurative art, his fame is steadily increasing
      with important exhibitions in Paris, Hanover,
      Cologne and Prague. A large show of his work will
      be held next year at the Stedelijk Museum, Amster-
      dam. Kupka's work was recently well represented
      at the Tate Gallery, London in the exhibition
      Cubist art from Czechoslovakia.

      Blonde au chapeau de paille, oil on canvas, 21+ x
       18¾ in. by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in an exhibition
      of Impressionist paintings at the Galerie Beyeler,
      Baumleingasse until November 15. The exhibition
      includes works by Monet, Pissarro, Sisley, Degas
      and Cézanne.

      Projet à agrandire, maquette by Helen Ashbee for a
       bronze 10 m, high, in a one-man show of modern
      sculpture and jewellery at Gallery Osterweil,
      Valentinskamp 46a, from November 3-30. Helen
       Ashbee, born in England, is the daughter of
      C. R. Ashbee, the architect, designer and jeweller.
      She has lived in England, America, Italy and France
      Since 1947 she has worked in bronze, silver and
       brass. (Price range: DM 500-DM 10,000.)

      India, in an exhibition of 17th, 18th and 19th century
      Indian paintings at Galerie Neuendorf,
       Wederstrasse 32 until November 15. (Price range:
