Tiro alla tune, 1963, 45 x 46½ in. by Achille Perilli
at the Marlborough Galleria d'Arte, Via Gregoria
until November 15. Born in Rome in 1927, Perilli
took over the editing of the Manifesto Forma 1 and,
with an avant-garde group, organized their first
exhibition of abstract art. He took part in the Venice
Biennales from 1950-8 with group works and in
1962 with a one-man show. In 1955 he won the 9th
Quadriennale di Roma, in 1960 was awarded the
International Hallmark and in 1961 the Premio
Lissone. (Price range: $400-$2,000.)

The birth of Christ, a miniature from the famous book
of hours, Belles heures de Jean de France, painted
at the beginning of the 15th century, in an exhibition
of medieval manuscripts The Burgundian Library at
the Royal Library of Belgium, King Albert I
Library, 2 avenue de l'Empéreur, until November
12. The exhibition has been arranged to mark the
death in 1467 of Philip the Good, Duke of
Burgundy.
Los Angeles

House for A. Tischer, 175 Greenfield Avenue, in an
exhibition of architecture by R. M. Schindler at the
Los Angeles County Museum of Art until
November 19. The architect was born and educated
in Vienna. In 1914 he moved to the U.S. and worked
in Chicago. On exhibition are photographs and
drawings with models and furniture, some of which
have been built especially for the exhibition from
the architect's design.
Toronto

Seated warrior, 1954, bronze, 5 ft by Henry Moore
at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Grange Park until
November 19. Also showing is an exhibition of
Three hundred years of Canadian art.

Eight plastic cubes, metal forms embedded in acrylic
by Gerald Gladstone at the Dunkelman Gallery,
15 Bedford Road, during November. This is a
one-man show by the Canadian sculptor who
studied at the Royal College of Art and has held
two London exhibitions. These cubes, each con-
taining welded metal forms, are based on an idea
of unit-sculptures which can be bought separately
and built into changeable structures. Gerald
Gladstone is working on an architectural commission
which will include hundreds of cubes.
