ALAN BARKLEY. The piece shown was made
in April 1968. All work is made at a unique
moment, stating the artist's identity up to
that point in time. Statements about work have
a peculiar, fugitive status: they speak of
reactions now and may well reverse themselves
tomorrow. I made it and prefer to leave it at
that. You have your feelings to consider.

ROLAND BRENER. This sculpture is
sometimes criticized for its direct use of
architectural forms. I think of it as a bland
structure articulating space which serves as a
vehicle for the imposed conceptual demands
or imagination of the viewer (participant).
