3 I've recorded this incident in my Introduction to the
exhibition of Bonnard drawings at present touring
museums in the United States : Colour and Abstraction
in the Drawings of Bonnard was the title of my
introductory essay. This exhibition, arranged by the
American Federation of Arts, was entitled Bonnard —
Drawings : 1893-1946, and. comes from the collection
of Kyra Gerard and Alfred Ayrton.
4 'Symmetry in Painting: An Academic Formula' was
the title of a lecture I gave at the Institute of
Contemporary Arts, London, on December 16th,
1970
