A solitary man. rarely well and sometimes badly
understood. Piaubert is a strange artist, one of those
most absorbed in the mysteries of the material, of
humanity and of life. His work has been frequently
described as 'magic' or as 'fantastic' for want of a better
term. 'What the spirit sees when the eye dreams' or
better, what the spirit raises from unknown realities
when the eye closes: seen before the day, before the
light, before man, perhaps; the universe of Piaubert
fascinates the imagination or the memory with land
