Vieira da Silva, a Portuguese artist, came to Paris
in 1928. She studied under Bourdelle, Despiau,
Friesz and Leger.
Milan

Cristallo, 20 x 16 in. by Mario Fusco at Galleria
Cadario, Via della Spiga 7, until January 2. Mario
Fusco, born in Turin in 1934, now lives and works in
Milan. He has held four previous one-man shows in
Italy and has participated in many group shows.

Large still life with oil lamp 1930, etching 14 x 12 in.
by Giorgio Morandi at Galleria Medusa, Studio
d'Arte Contemporanea, 124 via del Babuino, through
December and January. This is one of the etchings
published in the book Graphic works of Giorgio
Morandi. The artist was born in Bologna in 1890
and died in 1964. As well as a number of his
graphics the exhibition contains some important
oils. (Price range: $1,500—$40,000.)

paintings from the 17th century up to the

Zeichnung 1965, 13¾ x 13¾ in. by Klaus Basset at
Daedalus, Ludwigstrasse Ila, until the end of
December. Klaus Basset was born in 1926 and
studied in Berlin. In 1962 he completed his series
of paintings with eight basic forms. Having run the
Galerie am Berg in Stuttgart since 1963, Basset
became a lecturer at the Technical College of
Stuttgart. In the last three years he has held
one-man shows in Stuttgart, Tubigen, Graz, Delft,
Bochum and Frankfurt. (Price range: DM 35—
