       Proposition to Escape: heart garden 1966, neon hearts
       on frame on floor with plexiglass fence and grass,
       53 in. x 20 ft, by Martial Raysse, at Alexandre lolas,
       in an exhibition 'Oeuvres Récentes'—April 25 to
       the end of May. In 1966 Raysse represented France
       at the Venice Biennale and won the David E. Bright
       prize for artists under forty. Raysse will be
       exhibiting in Los Angeles during May and June at
       the Dwan Gallery.

       '...My God! But that Man could Play' (from The
       Shooting of Dan McGrew by Robert W. Service) 1966,
       liquitex on canvas, 35 x 45 ⅝  in., by Cply, at Alexandre
       lolas, 196 Boulevard Saint-Germain, in 'American
       Ballads' until April 22. William Nelson (Bill Copley
       born in New York in 1919, began painting as a hobby
       in 1946 and in 1957 he was represented at the
       exhibition of the Urvater Collection, Rijksmuseum
       Kröller-Müller, Otterlo. Some of his exhibitions
       include 'W. N. Copley' Hanover Gallery, London,
       'Pop Art U.S.A.', Oakland Art Museum, Calif. and
       lolas, New York.

       Painting 1965, 28 ¾ x 23 ⅝ in., by Zao Wou-ki at Galerie
       de France, 3 Faubourg St. Honoré, from April 5 until
       May 21. Born in Peking in 1921, Zao attended the Ecole
       National des Beaux Arts at Hangchow for six years
       and from 1941-7 was a drawing professor there. In
       1948 he left China to go to Paris and in 1957-8
       travelled to America, Japan, Thailand and Greece.
       Galleries where he has held exhibitions include
       Charpentier, Paris, Kootz, New York, Redfern,
       London, and La Bussola, Turin.

       Après Mexique 1965, acrylic, 39 x 60 ¼ in., by Pierre
       Alechinsky at Lefebre Gallery, 47 East 77th Street,
       April 18 to May 14. A member of COBRA together
       with Jorn, Appel, Corneille, and Christian
       Dotremont in 1949-51, Alechinsky has had one-man
       shows at the Carnegie International, Pittsburgh, the
       Gallery Van de Loo, Munich, and elsewhere; his
       first New York one-man show was at Lefebre in
       1962. Houston (Texas) Museum of Fine Arts is
       showing his black-and-white work—drawings and
       'encres'—from April 5.

       Portrait Sketch of Mrs. HCK 3 1927, oil transfer
       drawing on paper, 14 ¾ x 10 ⅞ in., by Paul Klee in a
       retrospective exhibition to April 30 at the Solomon
       R. Guggenheim Museum, 1071 Fifth Avenue.
       The exhibition of nearly 200 works selected from all
       over the world is the most comprehensive Klee
       survey ever held in the U.S. Following the
       Guggenheim showing, the exhibition goes to the
       Kunsthalle, Basel.

       The Costume Party 1965, acrylic on plaster and mixed
       media, 72 x 144 x 108 in., by George Segal in an
       exhibition of new work at Sidney Janis, 15 East 57th
       Street until April 22. Segal's exhibitions include the
       Stedelijk Museum's 'American Pop Art', 1963,
       Whitney Museum, 1964 Annual Exhibition of
       Contemporary American Sculpture, and Sidney
       Janis Gallery, 'Erotic Art '66', 1966.
