one of the leading twelve Americans of thirty and
under, Hopkins participated in the 'Festival of Two
Worlds' exhibition in Spoleto, Italy. One-man
exhibitions include Poindexter Gallery, Art Gallery
of Georgetown, Washington D.C. 1963, and Obelisk
Gallery, Boston, 1964. The Whitney Museum of
American Art is one of several public collections in
which he is represented.

Above the Fields in the Emek 1963, oil on canvas,
mounted on wood, 64 x 51 ½ in., by Mordecai Ardon
at Marlborough-Gerson Gallery, 41 East 57th Street,
during April. This is Ardon's first major one-man
show in New York, and contains over thirty-five oil
paintings including three triptychs. The show
includes important museum loans from the Museum
of Modern Art, New York, the Carnegie Institute,
Pittsburgh, the Stedelijk Museum, and the Tate
Gallery. The period covered is 1950 to today.

Flying Dutchman 1966, polished aluminium, 73 ½ x
139 x 85 in. by David Von Schlegell at the Royal
Marks Gallery, 19 East 71st Street, from April 15
through May. In 1960-1 Von Schlegell became
interested in the possibilities of a previously untried
constructivist approach to sculpture using methods
from the aircraft and boat-building industries. He
received a $5,000 Blanch E. Coleman Award for
work in sculpture 1964-5. His exhibitions include
participation in a three-man show at the Institute
of Contemporary Art, Boston, the Albright-Knox
Drawing Exhibition, and a one-man show last Spring
at Royal Marks.

Girl with an Ice Cream Cone 1963, oil on canvas,
48x 37 in. by Wayne Thiebaud at Allen Stone
Galleries, 48 East 86th Street, to April 15. Born in
Mesa, Arizona, in 1920, Thiebaud is now associate
professor of art at the University of California,
Davis.

L'Etoile de Mer 1942, oil, 58 x 50 in., by Fernand
Leger in '24 Major Acquisitions', through April, at
Perls Gallery, 1016 Madison Avenue. Among the
artists whose works are being shown are Archipenko,
Bombois, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Derain, Raoul
Dufy, Maillol, Miró, Modigliani, Pascin, Picasso,
Roualt, Soutine, Van Dongen, Vivin, and Vlaminck.

The Red Baron 1967, liquitex on canvas, 96 x 753- in.,
by Nicholas Krushenick at Pace Gallery, 9 West
57th Street, to April 15, in an exhibition of new work.
One-man exhibitions include Washington Gallery
of Modern Art and Galerie Ileana Sonnabend, Paris.
Among group shows are the Stedelijk Museum's,
'New Forms and Shapes', National Museum of
Modern Art, the Print Show at Tokyo, and the
Museum of Modern Art's 'Collage Exhibit'.

A Grey Trapezium 1965, 211 x 18+ in., by Antonio
Tapies, in an exhibition of recent paintings of mixed
media in April at Martha Jackson Gallery, 32 East
69th Street. A native of Barcelona, Tapies had his
first one-man show there in 1950 at Galerias
Layetanas. He won the David E. Bright Foundation
prize at the 1958 Venice Biennale and first prize at
Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, the same year.
