Gardens, N. 19,1960, pen and ink on paper by John
Hambleton Holdcroft in an exhibition entitled
'Scenes from the Big Pen : Drawn from the South
Coast', at Lightning Mark Group Gallery, Rye,
Sussex. A painter and graphic designer, Holdcroft
studied at West of England College of Art in 1948-51.
In 1963 he was elected to the Society of Graphic
Artists. He now teaches at the Hastings School of

Janey 1961, drawing, 14 x 10 in., by Carel Weight at
Bear Lane Gallery, 6 Bear Lane, Oxford from April
4-29. Weight was an official war artist during the last
war. After the war he became a tutor at the Royal
College of Art, and taught there until 1957. He was
commissioned to paint a mural for the 1953 Festival
of Britain. Exhibitions include Agnews, Zwemmer,
and Leicester Galleries. (Price range: oils £20—£175;

The Oath of the Apocalyptic Muse 1963, oil, 30 x 22 in.,
by Eileen Agar, at Moyan Gallery, 31 Brown Street,
Manchester, April 4-24. Born in Buenos Aires of
British parents, Eileen Agar came to England as a
child, and studied at the Slade and in Paris. She
was associated with surrealist activity in London and
first exhibited at the International Surrealist
Exhibition, New Burlington Galleries, London.
Besides her one-man shows she also participated
in the 'Art of Assemblage', Museum of Modern Art,
New York 1961. (Price range: 30 gns-150 gns.)

24 in., by Fred Bugg at the Midland Group
Gallery, 11 East Circus Street, Nottingham, April
1-22. Entitled 'Young Artists in South Wales' the
exhibition is a collection of paintings, sculpture,
prints and ceramics by young artists who will have
completed their training this year. From thirty to
forty works were selected for exhibition. Among
artists exhibiting are John Mitchell, David Meredith
and William Radford.

Jardin 1961, oil, 45 ⅝ x 28 ¾ in. by Martin Bradley,
taking part with John Christoforou and Cecil King
in three concurrent one-man shows at Richard
Demarco Gallery, 8 Melville Crescent, from April 11
to May 5. Born in England in 1931, Bradley lives and
works in Paris. He is represented in collections in
the U.S., Australia, South America and the U.K.

Mad, Mad, Money 1966, lino, 20 x 30 in. by Willie
Rodger at New Charing Cross Gallery, 494
Sauchiehall Street to April 15. Originally a visualiser
in a London advertising agency, Rodger, who now
teaches in Dunbartonshire, studied at Glasgow
School of Art in Graphic Design in 1948-53. His
prints have been purchased by the Victoria & Albert
Museum, Glasgow University Print Collection, and
the Arts Council Scottish Committee. (Price range:
