Photographs of the work of Carl Nesjar, Norwegian
painter and photographer who has been
experimenting with techniques in a new concrete
material, are being shown at the I.C.A.—to
February 11. Illustrated is a photograph by Nesjar
of the monumental Head of Woman made in
conjunction with Picasso at Kristinehamn, the
Swedish summer resort on Lake Vanern. Inaugurated
in Summer 1965 by the poet Bo Setterlind, the pillar
is 15 metres high and made of 'natural concrete',
The decor has been produced by sand-blasting.

by William Thomson at an Alwin Gallery exhibition
of paintings by Staff members of Maidstone College
of Art—until February 25. ('One of the first principles
of art education is to allow students to develop
within a milieu of practising artists so that their
minds, vision and work can grow in a number of
directions simultaneously.' William Stobbs,
Principal of the College.) Thirty artists are

Bacchanal 1966, oil on canvas, 40x 50 in. by
Rodney Gladwell in an exhibition of some twenty
recent works at Lefevre Gallery from February 16
until March 11. Gladwell, born in England, studied
in Paris and has exhibited in Paris, London and
provincial galleries. (Price range: up to £200.)

Assassin (winter of 1963)1965, mild steel painted in
polyurethane, 96 x 96 x 84 in. by Neville Boden al
the A.I.A. Gallery exhibition, The Gregory Fellows
from February 11 to March 3. Through the generosity
of Dr Eric Gregory, fellowships in painting, sculpture
and poetry were established in the University of
Leeds in 1950. Exhibiting with Boden, a Gregory
fellow in sculpture at the University of Leeds since
1965, are Dennis Creffield (painting) and David
Wright, made a fellow for his achievements in
poetry. (Price range: drawings £15; sculpture and
painting to £300.)

Mulla and Manyam, oil, 43 x 42 in. of M. F. Husain,
in the Art Now in India exhibition at the
Upper Grosvenor Galleries, January 30 to February 20.
Husain won an award at the 1st Indian National
Exhibition of Art in 1955, and in 1959 obtained the
top award at the Tokyo International Art Exhibition.
Among the leading contemporary painters included
in the exhibition are Ram Kumar and Jamini Roy.

18 x 26 in., by Sally Ducksbury at the Upper
Grosvenor Galleries from February 13 to March 2 in
an exhibition of recent works including crayon
drawings and oils. Sally Ducksbury studied art at
the Central School of Art and has taught at
Hornsey School of Art. (Price range:
