       Red and yellow stripes 1959, acrylic, 36 x 36 in., by
      Gene Davis. A show of his work is being held at
       Ricke, Kolnische Strasse 44-46, until the middle of
       January. Gene Davis was interviewed by Gene
       Baro for the November 1967 issue of Studio
       International. This is his first European show, and is
       held in co-operation with Fischbach Gallery, New
       York. (Price range: $650 up.)

       Concetto spaciale 1964, canvas, 21½ x 18 in., by
       Lucio Fontana at Muller, Hohenheimer Strasse 7,
       until January 15. Fontana was born in 1899 in the
       Argentine, of Italian parents, and studied in Milan.
       He has exhibited widely in Europe, America and
       Japan. Also included in the show, entitled
       'Kontraste', are Arman, Duchamp, Hundertwasser,
       Lenk, Oldenburg, Lichtenstein, Pfahler, Soto,
       Tapies, Uecker, and Vasarely.

       Spring and springs 1966, drypoint, roulette and
       colour etching, 16 x 18 in., by Masuo Ikeda at
       Springer, Kurfürstendamm 16, from January 5-27.
       Masuo Ikeda was born in 1934 in Mukden. He won
       the first prize for prints at the Venice Biennale in
       1966 and is now exhibiting for the first time in
       Germany. His prints were shown recently at the
       Lumley Cazalet Gallery in London. (Price range:
       DM 400—DM 600.)

       Y'a pas d'avance 1964, etching, 17½ x 13½ in., by
       Pierre Alechinsky at Van de Loo,
       Prinzregentenstrasse 60, Stuckvilla, during early
       January. The exhibition, 'Graphic-bazar', contains
       graphics by both known and unknown artists.

       Three Spanish clowns 1928, woodcut, by Erich
       Heckel at Günther Franke, Maximilianstrasse 22,
       until January 31. The exhibition also includes
       etchings and lithographs. Heckel, born in 1883,
       was a member of Die Brücke group which was
       founded in Dresden in 1905 and moved to Berlin in
       1910. After the move Heckel's work became more
       expressionist. (Price range: DM 8—DM 300.)

       Düsseldorf

       Gebilde 7 1967,40 x 40 x 10 in., by Ed Kiënder at
       Gunar, Mühlenstrasse 1, in January. The theme of
       Kiënder's work is the Space-roll ('rolls separated
       from the objects become autonomous, events and
       situations fixed optically or in their natural state
       are rolled together....')
