       Figura fragile 1966, 40 x 36 in., by Mario Padovan at
       Cassel, 8a Thurloe Place, S.W.7 from January 10-31.
       This is the first exhibition that Padovan has held in
       England, but he has held many in Italy and
       America. Born in Trieste, he lived for a while in
       Paris and Beverly Hills, California, and now lives
       and works in Rome.

       Woman in red, oil on canvas, 25 x 23 in., by Hans
       Boehler at Marlborough Fine Art, 39 Old Bond
       Street, W.1 from January 1-19. Hans Boehler is an
       Austrian painter who was born in Vienna in 1884
       and died in 1961. He travelled extensively-to the
       Far East, West Indies, the Argentine-and settled in
       New York in 1936, where he remained during the
       war. He then commuted between Europe and
       America. His work is strongly connected with that of
       Kokoschka, his contemporary. (Price range: $400-
       $4,000)

       New York, New York 1966, colour etching by Mary
       Louise Coulouris at Everyman Foyer, N.W.3 until
       February 4. Born in New York of English and
       American parents, she came to England in 1949 at
       the age of ten, and later studied at the Slade
       (under Anthony Gross). She was awarded a post-
       graduate scholarship in etching and a French
       Government Scholarship in 1963. For two years she
       worked in Paris, painting and etching in William
       Hayter's studio and doing lithography at the Ecole
       des Beaux Arts. Her first one-man show was at the
       Maison des Beaux Arts in 1964, She teaches at
       Camberwell and Wolverhampton Schools of Art.

      Wendish peasant woman, pen and wash, by Albrecht
       Diirer in the exhibition 'Campbell Dodgson: his
       Keepership and his bequest' at the British
       Museum until June 3. The show is designed to
       celebrate the acquisitions made during the
       Keepership of Campbell Dodgson and his bequest
      of prints and drawings to the museum.

      Lay-a-bout 1966, resins and cement, 24½ x 24 in.,
      by Maryon Kantaroff at Drian, 5/7 Porchester Place,
      W.2 from January 7-20. Maryon Kantaroff was born
      in Canada and studied at Chelsea College of Art.
      This is her second London exhibition. (Price range:
      60 gns-300 gns.)

      Oriel Ross (1st portrait) 1925, bronze, 21½ in. high,
      by Sir Jacob Epstein at Leicester Galleries, 4 Audley
      Square, W.1 in their annual New Year exhibition
      of paintings, drawings and sculpture by 19th and
      20th century artists-from January 2 until February
      10. Jacob Epstein was born in New York in 1880 and
      died in 1959. His portraits include Einstein, Conrad
      and Nehru. Among his leading religious works are
      Genesis, 1931, the Madonna and Child, 1952, for the
      convent in Cavendish Square, London, Christ in
      Majesty, 1957, for Llandaft Cathedral, and Saint
      Michael in conflict with the Devil on Coventry
      Cathedral. Epstein either executed large works in
      direct carving or modelled in clay. Oriel Ross who
      was daughter of a clergyman, went on the stage.
      Epstein executed three portraits of her.
