`I am proposing an environmental sculpture which is involved in accentuating and
maintaining the sense of place. The site is a street stair built in 192z.' The steel
frame is suggestive of a potential building which might have occupied the space.
This suggestion of a building, and its absence, creates an added awareness and
appreciation of the open space.

two materials will mix or diffuse together within a determined time-span of 3,000
years at which time I will consider the piece finished. The process will be apparent
throughout this time, being visually apparent at the edges first and eventually at all
surfaces'.
