On 6 February an exhibition of recent work by
younger British artists opened at the Musée d'Art
Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Organized under the
auspices of the British Council with the advice and
assistance of Radu Varia, Edward Lucie-Smith,
Jacques Lassaigne and Sir Norman Reid, the
exhibition constituted the biggest showing of British
painting in France in recent years. The photos below
were taken by Rowland Scherman : (top row) opening
