                                                                                              during June. Last month an exhibition of work by
                                                                                              Tinguely opened the new Alexandre lolas Gallery in
                                                                                              Rome at 9 Piazza di Spagna.

                                                                                              53 Rue de Seine, during June and July in an
                                                                                              exhibition 'Ustensiles Utopiques, cycle de
                                                                                              ('Hourloupe'. In 1966, the Institute of Contemporary
                                                                                              Art exhibited seventy-six drawings covering the
                                                                                              painter's development in 1935-65. In the same year a
                                                                                              retrospective at the Tate was held and Robert Fraser
                                                                                              exhibited fifteen new canvases, images of kitchen
                                                                                              equipment, books, beds and taps.

                                                                                             Cheval Sans Selle 1915, bronze, 16½ x 13¾  in. by
                                                                                              Bourdelle, at Claude Bernard, 5-7 Rue des
                                                                                              Beaux Arts, in an exhibition of sculpture beginning
                                                                                              June 2. A pupil of Rodin, Emile-Antoine Bourdelle
                                                                                              (1861-1929) also made decorative paintings for the
                                                                                              Theâtre des Champs Eysées. The sketch for his
                                                                                              major work, The Virgin of Alsace, is in Edinburgh.

                                                                                              Le Canard et son nid 1956-62, oil on paper, 28¾ x
                                                                                              36¼ in., by Georges Braque (1882-1963) at Maeght, 13 Rue
                                                                                              de Teheran, in June. The exhibition—of works never
                                                                                              shown before—includes Braque's last works. The 31
                                                                                              exhibits include twelve canvasses and a number of
                                                                                              gouaches. The Maeght catalogue contains 12
                                                                                              reproductions.

                                                                                              Quick Silver by Mallory until June 15 in a group
                                                                                              show, Sound Movement and Light, at Iris Clert,
                                                                                              28 Faubourg St Honore. Among artists included
                                                                                              are Adzak, Baschet, Geissler, Karahalios, Katzen,
                                                                                              Landsman, and Van Thienen.

                                                                                              (1864-1909) at Del Levante, 60 Prinzregentenstrasse
                                                                                              in June. A student atthe Academie Julien, Paris,
                                                                                              Ranson knew Sérusier, Bonnard, Vuillard, Denis, and
                                                                                              Ibels. In 1893-4 the  Revue Blanche published his
                                                                                              lithographs and during thattime he also made studies
                                                                                              for tapestries executed by his wife and exhibited at
                                                                                              the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts. He
                                                                                              exhibited atthe Salon des lndependants and founded
                                                                                              the Academie Ranson together with his wife and
                                                                                              several artists of the Nabis group.
