Painting 1967 oil on canvas, 48 x 36 in. by Cyril
Fradan at the Plymouth Art Centre, 38 Looe Street,
Plymouth, from October 28 to November 17. Born
in Johannesburg in 1928, Fradan was awarded a
degree in the History of Art and studied in Rome
and at the Academie Julien in Paris. In 1960 he
came to London. He has exhibited in Rome,
Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and in London at
the Woodstock and Mercury Galleries. His works
are in many private collections. (Price range

El/and oil on canvas, 50 x 40 in. by Peter Brook,
in an exhibition of his paintings of the North at
Queen Square Gallery, Claypit Lane, Leeds through
October. Peter Brook, born in Holmfirth in 1927, is
a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
His works are in several public galleries in England
and in private collections in England, South Africa
and Australia. (Price range £15-£150.)

Black and Grey 1965, colour etching 24 x 24 in. by
John Sturgess from the Arts Council collection in
an exhibition of prints, drawings and sculptures
from October 5 to 26 at Gordon Maynard Gallery,
22 Parkway, Welwyn Garden City, Herts. Born in
1933, Sturgess studied at Northampton School of
Art and at the Royal College of Art, and now
lectures at Ravensbourne College of Art. There are
eleven other artists exhibiting, all of whom live and
work at Digswell House, owned by the Digswell
Arts Trust.

Open (edition of four) 1966, painted fibre glass
by John Dee at the Arnolfini Gallery, 42 Triangle
West, Bristol, until October 25. Dee was born
in Northampton in 1938 and studied at Reading
University and the Slade School. He now teaches
sculpture at Sunderland College of Art. He won
joint first prize in the Northern Sculptors Exhibition
1966. (Price range £30-£300.)

Inner burning 1966, 35 x 48 in. by Chuang Che in
an exhibition of his paintings at the Lightning Mark
Group Gallery, Rye, Sussex until October 15. Most
of the work is in oil and inks with various oriental
papers on canvas. His exhibitions include the
fifth Biennale of San Paulo, the first Biennale des
Jeunes in Paris and a joint exhibition with Liu
Kuo-Sung in Ohio, U.S.A. This is his third
one-man show. (Price range £15-£130.)

Candy painted wood 25 x 72 x 8 in. by Kim Lim in
an exhibition of Modern British Sculpture from the
Arts Council collection at the Little Missenden
Festival, near Amersham, Bucks, from October
13 to 15. The exhibition, in the village hall, will
include works by Robert Adams, David Annesley,
Hubert Dalwood, Philip King, Kenneth Martin,
Tim Scott, William Tucker, and Brian Wall.

T. Shelford Currell from an exhibition of
Contemporary Graphics at the Barbican Gallery,
44 New Street, Plymouth, Devon until November 4.
Other artists include Nicholas Gray, Barbara
Hanrahan, Roger Stabley, Jac Charoux, Gavin
Robins, Jacqueline Joys and Richard Lightburn.
