Fernande 1905 oil on canvas in a retrospective
exhibition of works by Kees Van Dongen, Musée
d'Art Moderne, Avenue du President Wilson, from
October 12 to November 26. Kees van Dongen came
to Paris from Holland in 1897. Influenced by the
Fauves, he won in the 1920s, and has since held,
a reputation for the acid portrayal of the world of
the rich and fashionable.

Licht dynamo 1961, a relief 70 x 70 x 20 cm. by
Heinz Mack in a one-man show of his recent work
at Galerie Denise René, 196 Boulevard St. Germain
until October 15. Heinz Mack was born in Lollar
in 1931 and studied at the State Art Academy of
Düsseldorf and the University of Cologne. He lives
in Düsseldorf but spends part of his time in New
York. He is co-editor of Zero publications, has had
one-man shows in Germany, England, France and
Belgium, and has participated in several group
exhibitions. He recently completed two
commissions for Alcan.

Silver Mallow 1967, aluminium 21 x 13 x 11 in. by
John Wragg in an exhibition of his work at Galerie
lolas through October. Wragg was born in 1937
and studied at the Royal College of Art. He won
the Sainsbury Award in 1960. He has taught at
Chelsea School of Art since 1961 and has exhibited
in group shows in England and Europe.

Pierre-champignon 13½ in. high in an exhibition of
l'Art des Mayas de Guatemala at the Musée des
Beaux-Arts, Chambéry until October 15. The
sculpture is pre-classic, first or second century B.C.,
from Kaminaljuyu.

Painting 1967 64 x 51 in. by Luigi Boille at Galerie
Stadler, 51 rue de Seine, from October 17 to
November 18. An exhibitor at the Venice Biennale
in 1966 Boille was born in Rome in 1926, and
obtained a diploma at the Academie des Beaux
Arts in Rome, continuing his studies in architecture
at the University. He went to Paris in 1951 to
complete his study of architecture but soon turned
entirely to painting. He has had one-man shows
in Italy and France and has been included in many
important international exhibitions in Europe and
America.

Two of clubs 1966 mixed media, 10x 15 x 2½ in. by
George Brecht in one of two one-man shows
currently showing at Galerie Ricke, Kolnstrasse
44-46 until November 29. This is Brecht's first show
of objects in Germany. (Price range $600-$1.500).
Gary Kuehn, also exhibiting, was born in New
Jersey in 1939 and studied at Drew College and
Rutgers University. He has exhibited at the
Bianchini and Fishbach Galleries, the Larry Aldrich
Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum,
but this is his first European show of sculptures.
The exhibition will be shown in the art fair at
Cologne and then at the Galerie Ricke.
